Men's Cross Country Competes In Harry F. Anderson Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior captain Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.) set a personal-best time in Saturday morning's 8K race as the Wells College men's cross country team posted a seventh place finish in the 2012 Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College. The Golden Knights of Gannon University claimed first place, averaging a time of 26:25.60 while earning only 44 points.

Shumski's 8K time of 27:04 set a personal record, placing 23rd overall amongst the field of 77 runners. Freshman Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) completed the course in 28:55 while sophomore Thomas Dougherty (Riverside, Conn.) finished with a time of 30:27 to place 53rd. Paul Hernon (New Hartford, N.Y.) finished two places behind Dougherty, turning in a time of 30:34.

Tony Petri (East Middlebury, Vt.) placed 56th overall with a time of 30:47 while Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y.) completed the course with a time of 32:30. Andrew Judson (Court Gambrillis, Md.) finished 66th (33:30) while Zach Tripsas (Elka Park, N.Y.) rounded out the field for the Express with a time of 37:27.

In total, all of the Express runners improved upon their season-high 8K marks.
