Men’s Cross Country Competes At Cross Country Only Championship

GENEVA, N.Y. – Senior captain Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.) placed 18th as an individual as the Wells College men's cross country squad placed 11th out of 17 teams at the Cross Country Only Championship, held at Seneca Lake State Park Saturday afternoon. Clarkson University captured first place in the 8K race, earning only 46 points.

Shumski's 8K time of 28:15 placed him 18th overall amongst the field. Freshman Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) completed the course in 29:47 while Paul Hernon (New Hartford, N.Y.) finished 96th with a time of 31:56. Tony Petri (East Middlebury, Vt.) finished one place behind Hernon, finishing only 56 seconds behind Petri.

Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y.) placed 128th overall as an individual, finishing with a time of 33:43. Andrew Judson (Court Gambrillis, Md.) completed the course with a time of 34:29 while Andrew Eiffert (Canandaigua, N.Y.) placed 159th with a time of 38:35. Zach Tripsas (Elka Park, N.Y.) rounded out the field for the Express with a time of 38:44.

The Express return to action Oct. 20, 2012 as they host the Wells College Invitational on the campus of Wells College in Aurora, N.Y.
