D'Arpino Leads Men's Cross Country at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Competing in his first-ever cross country meet at the collegiate level, freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) led all finishers from the Wells College men's cross country team at the Le Moyne College Alumni Short Course Invitational on Saturday. Running on the 6.2 kilometer course, Wells placed fifth out of nine teams in the event with 176 points.

D'Arpino posted a time of 25:22.01 to placed 41st out of 92 entrants. Senior Stephen Armstrong (Horseheads, N.Y.) finished second on the team, posting a time of 25:54.53 only to be followed by sophomore Tanner Mingen (Cypress, Texas) and his time of 26:12.45. Freshman Bradlee Sherman (Cortland, N.Y.) finished 63rd with a time of 27:44.99 while junior Ky'aire Reed (Trenton, N.J.) was the fifth scorer for Wells while finishing 69th (29:27.10).

Freshman Ross Cobb (So. Burlington, Vt.), the sixth runner for Wells, trailed Reed by two places with a time of 29:54.91.

The Express return to action Saturday, Sept. 12 as they compete at the Don Masterson Invitational, hosted by Oswego State University, at 11 a.m.
