Armstrong Leads Men's Cross Country At Oswego State

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Senior Stephen Armstrong (Horseheads, N.Y.) led all members of the Wells College men's cross country team at the Oswego State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Express finished in seventh place out of nine teams, earning 207 total points while competing on the 8K course.

Armstrong placed 67th out of 114 competitors, averaging a 6:12/mile pace to post a time of 30:44.6. Freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) trailed Armstrong by just under 30 seconds, placing 75th with a time of 31:16.6. Sophomore Tanner Mingen (Houston, Texas) was 81st against the field (32.05.2) while freshman Bradlee Sherman (Cortland, N.Y.) finished three places behind Mingen (32:41.3).

Freshman John Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.), competing in his first collegiate race, placed 100th with a time of 34:42.7 to round out the point scorers for Wells. Junior Ky'aire Reed (Trenton, N.J.) and freshman Ross Cobb (So. Burlington, Vt.) posted times of 35:14.0 and 36:13.6, respectively, to conclude the Wells entrants on the afternoon.

Wells will compete at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 19 at 12 p.m.
