Armstrong Leads Men's Cross Country At NEAC Championship

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – Senior Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's cross country team posted a 31st-place finish at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Jamesville Beach State Park. Armstrong and the Express posted an eighth place team finish on the 8K course, racking up 234 total points.

Armstrong posted a time of 30:32, a personal record at the league's championship. Freshman Antonio D'Arpino (Auburn, N.Y.) placed 42nd out of the 105 entrants, turning in a time of 31:45. Freshman Bradlee Sherman (Cortland, N.Y.) posted a season-best 8K time of 32:16 before classmate Ross Cobb (South Burlington, Vt.) turned in a time of 34:48 for the Express, also a personal best.

Junior Ky'aire Reed (Trenton, N.J.) crossed the finish line in 35:11 while freshman John Tolley (Pittsford, N.Y.) rounded out the Wells field with a time of 35:32.

The men's cross country team returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 14 as they will participate at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals at Letchworth State Park in Mount Morris, N.Y.
