Men's Cross Country Places Sixth At NEAC Championships

The Wells College men's cross country team took sixth place at the 2016 North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, Pa.

It was an improvement of two places over the team's 2015 eighth-place finish. Wells totaled 183 points, and finished three points better than seventh-place Lancasater Bible, which was competing on its home course.

Wells ran the eight-kilometer course at Lancaster on a sunny, warm day. With a field that included 12 teams and 101 competitors.

Adam M. Sleezer led the Express runners across the line with a time of 28 minutes, 47.74 seconds and placed 15th overall. With his finish, Sleezer earned All-NEAC Third Team honors. The top seven runners comprised the First Team, and eighth place to 14th place were on the Second Team.

Tanner Mingen narrowly missed all-conference honors with a 22nd-place finish in 29:44.26. Antonio D'Arpino was in the top third of the field with a 33rd-place finish overall in 30:39.64.

Ross Cobb and Bradlee Sherman rounded out the scoring lineup for Wells as the top-five finishers in each lineup counted toward the team's total. Cobb was 54th in 32:40.96 and Sherman took 59th in 33:34.15.

Ky'aire Reed (34:15.43) and John Tolley (34:56.89) were the other competitors for Wells.
