Roser Collects NEAC Student-Athlete Of The Week Merits

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Junior Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) of the Wells College women's basketball team was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week for the Express, the conference office announced late Monday afternoon.

Across her last three games, Roser averaged 29.3 points per game for the Express, shooting 30-of-67 (.448) from the field while adding 28 free throws in 33 total chances from the charity stripe. Additionally, Roser averaged 21.7 rebounds per game, securing 29 offensive rebounds alongside 36 defensive boards. Her 11 blocks led the team across the three games while her 10 assists and eight steals ranked her second amongst Wells student-athletes.

Against the Wildcats of SUNYIT on Sunday, Roser collected her 1,000th career rebound to become the lone player in program history to accomplish that feat. Earlier this year, Roser scored her 1,000th point against the Saxons of Alfred University on Nov. 28, 2012. Additionally, her 39 points against the Wildcats set a single game program record as she was able to eclipse her previous program record of 33 points, set on Jan. 22, 2011 against Cazenovia College.

At the charity stripe against SUNYIT, Roser was 13-of-13 and set the program record for most successful free throws without a miss. Previously, Roser held the program record after a 9-for-9 performance against the College of Saint Elizabeth on Jan. 9, 2011.

In the most recent NCAA Statistical Report released Monday afternoon, Roser currently ranks first amongst all Division III student-athletes with 16.8 rebounds per game and in double-doubles with 21 on the season. Additionally, Roser ranks third overall with one triple-double, 12th nationally in blocks per game (2.87) and 14th in points per game (20.4). She also ranks within the top-100 athletes nationally with a 45.4% field goal percentage.

Roser has recorded 58 career double-doubles in 68 career games and is the program leader in points (1,389), scoring average (20.4), field goals made (478), field goals attempted (573), rebounds (1,017), rebounding average (15.0), assists (166), blocked shots (193), steals (133) and minutes played (2,325).
