Women’s Basketball Team’s 2019-20 Schedule Announced

The Wells College women's basketball team released its 2019-20 schedule of 25 regular season games. The Express will kick-off its season at D'Youville College on Friday, Nov. 9 as the first of seven consecutive non-conference games before beginning conference play.

Other non-conference opponents that Wells will face prior to conference play includes four home games beginning with Alfred State on Tuesday, Nov. 12; Elmira College on Tuesday, Nov. 19; Hartwick College on Saturday, Nov. 23; and Houghton College on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Between the home season-opener against Alfred State on Nov. 12 and the team's second home game on Nov. 19 against Elmira are a pair of road non-conference games at Manhattanville College on Nov. 15 and Utica College on Nov. 16.

The Express will play each North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) team at least once and divisional NEAC opponents twice with the first NEAC game slated for visiting Penn-State Harrisburg on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. It will also be the team's last game for the calendar year ending 2019.

The January and February game schedules are comprised of all NEAC contests except for the opening games in January on the road against SUNY Oswego (Jan. 5) and SUNY Cortland (Jan. 6). The two road conference games that follow the Oswego and Cortland games are against Gallaudet (Jan. 11) and Lancaster Bible (Jan. 12). Those two opening conference tilts precede nine of the team's 10 NEAC divisional contests.

During a stretch between Jan. 15 – Feb. 19, Wells will play a home-and-home with NEAC division opponents: SUNY Morrisville (Jan. 15, Feb. 1), SUNY Cobleskill (Jan. 18, Feb. 5), Keuka College (Jan. 22, Feb. 8), Cazenovia College (Jan. 25, Feb. 12) and SUNY Polytechnic Institute (Jan. 29, Feb. 19) with one game against each divisional opponent in January and one in February.

Wells completes its regular season with three of its last four regular season games against conference opponents with the first on the road at Penn-State Abbington on Feb. 15, followed by two home games against Penn-State Berks on Feb. 21 and Penn College on Feb. 22. Sandwiched between the last conference road game and next-to-last conference home game is the last NEAC divisional game against SUNY Poly on Feb. 19.

The NEAC Championships will run from Feb. 25 through March 1 with teams and locations for playoff dates to be determined at the conclusion of the regular season.
