Women’s Basketball Team Begins Play in 2020 at Oswego

The Wells College women's basketball team took to the court for the first time in four weeks with an afternoon road contest at Max Ziel Gymnasium at SUNY Oswego. The Lakers got out of the gate quick to defeat the Express by a 67-30 score on Sunday, Jan. 5 in a non-conference tilt.

Maritza Scharoun recorded a double-double in defeat with 10 boards and 10 points while also registering a block. It was the junior's first double-double of the young season.

Jordan Jacobs led the Express with a team-high 14 points and three steals. Jacobs extended her streak of double-digit point-games to six.

Lorissa Parks added four points while Jennifer McCumber notched a pair of points for Wells.

The women's basketball team next plays another non-conference contest at Cortland State tomorrow, Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.
