RAMAPO RUNS OVER WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Ithaca, N.Y.– The Ramapo College Roadrunners  women's lacrosse team rolled over the Wells College Express 20-10 on Saturday night at Schoellkopf Field on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) led the Express with four goals and three assists, while Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y.) added three goals in the losing effort. Christina Cigolini and Jenna Pfarr led a total of seven Roadrunner scorers with five goals each. Megan Tierney earned the win in net with 11 saves, while Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, Pa./Lincoln Academy) finished with five saves in the loss.

The Express jumped out an early 2-0 lead on two unassisted goals by Lotkowictz less than a minute into the start of the game. The Roadrunners quickly responded with two straight goals by Amanda Barretta, sparking a nine goal barrage over the final 25 minutes of play to take a commanding 11-4 lead into the break.

Ramapo came out firing in the second half, scoring four straight goals in the first four-minutes. Wells would have one least push with 20 minutes remaining as Allen scored three straight goals to pull the Express to within eight at16-8. It was all Roadrunners from there as they would net four more goals over the final ten minutes to seal the victory.

Anna Breard (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford), Gabriella Decker (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito), and Madeline Bass (Lemon Grove, Calif./Helix) all netted goals for the Express in the loss.

Ramapo held the edge in shots 31-27, while the Express held a 28-21 advantage in groundballs.

Wells returns to action tomorrow against Kean University at 2:00 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field in Ithaca, N.Y.
