Aurora, New York – Emily Lotkowictz's (Skaneateles, NY) goal in the 18th-minute of the first half proved to be the eventual game winner as the Wells College Express Women's Soccer Team defeated North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Penn St. Harrisburg 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wells. Express goalie Claire Petersen finished with nine saves.
Lotkowictz scored on a pass from Amanda Heterbring (Java Center, NY) that threaded the Lion defense and found a streaking Lotkowictz that put it over the head of a sliding Angela Gilmore (Millersburg, PA) to give the Express a 1-0 lead. The Express would spend the next 70-minutes fighting off the Lion attack , who finished with 22 shots to the Express four.
With the win the Express improve to 4-3-0 (1-1-0 NEAC) while the loss drops the Lions to 1-4-0 (0-2-0 NEAC).
The Express return to action next Saturday, September 27, against Keuka College starting at 3:00 pm.
