EXPRESS SHUTDOWN BY MEDAILLE

Aurora, New York – The Wells College women's soccer team could not find the back of the net as the Medaille College Mavericks defeated the Express 6-0 Tuesday at Wells. The Mavericks were led by Laura Freeman (Buffalo, NY) who finished with two goals and two assist on the day. The Express were led by goalie Claire Petersen (Derby, NY) with 12 saves.

The Mavericks came out firing in the first half as they recorded 15 shots and four goals, two by Freeman. Despite being down by four at the half, the Express came out hard in the second half, recording seven shots, after managing just one shot in the first half. Medaille College would finish with seven corners and eight offsides; while the Express would finish with two corners and seven offsides.

With the loss the Express fall to 5-6-1 (2-3-0 NEAC) on the season while the Mavericks improve to 8-7-0.

The Express will next play at home against Hilbert College on Friday, October 17, at 3:00 pm.
