NITTANY LIONS USE FOUR SECOND-HALF GOALS TO SINK EXPRESS

Harrisburg, PA –The Penn St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions used four second-half goals en-route to a 6-2 victory over the Wells College women's soccer team in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, PA. Juli Vibbard(Burlington Flats) and Samantha Civilette(Fredonia) scored the only two goals for the Express who fell to 1-1 in the conference and 1-5 overall with the loss. Megan Frailey and Corinne Mazzotta each scored two goals for the Nittany Lions who improved to 2-0 in the conference and 4-1 overall on the season

Harrisburg controlled the offensive, out shooting the Express 34-5 while holding 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. 

Vibbard would put the Express up early scoring at 19:45 of the first half for a 1-0 lead. It would be short lived as Frailey would go on to score both of her goals over the next six minutes to give the Nittany Lions a 2-1 lead that would hold going into the second half.

The Nittany Lions would open up the second half scoring four-straight goals and putting the game out of reach with a 6-1 lead at 79:16. Civilette would score to cut the lead to 6-2 with eight minutes remaining, but it would not be enough as Harrisburg cruised to victory.

The Express will next host NEAC opponent Keuka College on Wednesday, September 23 at 5:00 pm at Wells.
