Hartwick Blanks Women’s Soccer 7-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Goalkeeper Kylie Nishioka (Encinitas, Calif.) made a career-high 17 saves as the Wells College women's soccer team posted a 7-0 shutout loss to the Hawks of Hartwick College Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. Wells falls to 1-5 overall on the season while the Hawks (2-1-2) collect their second victory of the young season.

Despite leading 2-0 at the half, Hartwick poured it on in the second half, scoring five unanswered goals to add insurance. Angela Luizzi scored four goals in the second half alone, including two goals in the final 10 minutes of action to add salt to the wounds. Wells recorded only one shot on goal as sophomore Heather Hiltbrand (Fayetteville, N.Y.) fired a free kick on goal that was easily halted by Hartwick goalkeeper Hope Brown.

Cumulatively, Wells was out-shot by a 40-to-1 margin and the host Hawks held an 8-to-1 corner kick advantage.

Nishioka falls to 1-5 overall after her 17 save performance. Brown (2-1-1) turned aside the only shot on goal that she faced to pick up her second victory of the year.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Sept. 21 as they face-off against the College of Saint Elizabeth in a 1:00 p.m. neutral site contest at the Soccer Centers in Somerset, N.J.
