The Wells College women's soccer team played its 2018 home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and lost a 6-0 match to Hartwick College in non-conference play. Hartwick improved to 3-0-0 on the season and has yet to concede a goal. Wells is 1-1-0.
Hartwick held a 23-0 advantage in shots during the match. The Hawks scored five times in the first half and once in the second half.
Wells goalkeeper Kayleigh Hurley had eight saves. Alisa Hines made a team save by clearing a Hartwick shot off of the goal line following a scramble in the penalty area.
The Express begins conference play Saturday, Sept. 8 at Cazenovia College with a noon match.
