The Wells College women's soccer team conceded a first-half goal and it was the only goal of the match as SUNY Canton claimed a 1-0 victory over the Express on Friday, August 30 at the Wells Turf Field. It was the season-opening match for both teams.
Canton's goal came in the 38th minute. The Roos held a 15-1 advantage in shots in the game, and Wells goalkeeper Jennifer McCumber made 10 saves in her collegiate debut. The Wells shot was recorded by Erin Persons.
Wells is back in action Saturday, Sept. 7 at Medaille College.
