EXPRESS FALL TO CAZ AND WILLIAM SMITH IN DUAL MEET

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's swimming team fell 64-38 to William Smith College and 57-43 to the Cazenovia College Wildcats in a double-dual meet held at William Smith on Saturday afternoon in Geneva.

 

Gabby Spencer (Trumansburg, N.Y.) earned a first place finish in the 200 Yard I.M. with a time of 2:28.56, besting second place finisher Samantha Burnett of William Smith by over 2-seconds and improving her already 4th All-Time recordby by over one second. Spencer also took second in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:01.80.

 

Olivia Touron (Cato, N.Y.) placed second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:17.79, and also earned a third place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle touching the wall in 6:17.01.

 

Hallie Hanson (Ashville, N.Y.) placed third in the 100 Yard Breastroke with a time of 1:29.04 and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Idolyn Villiotti (Amherst, N.H.), Erika Bareiss (Clington, N.Y.), Touron, and Spencer placed third with a time of 4:17.27 to round out the highlights for the Express.

 

The Express will now have a two week break before traveling to SUNY Cobleskill on February 17 for the three day North Eastern Athletic Conference Swimming Championship in Cobleskill, N.Y.
