Women's Swim Team Takes On Alfred and Utica

The Wells College women's swimming team returned to action with a meet Friday afternoon, Jan. 13 against Utica College and Alfred University at Utica, N.Y. In dual-meet scoring against both opponents, Wells fell by a 153-32 score against Utica and dropped a 176-30 dual-meet score against Alfred.

Shannon Simmons finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.46 seconds and was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:12.12.

Kaitlyn Schwend was fifth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.05.

The Express is back in action Saturday, Jan. 14 with a 1 p.m. home meet against Pitt-Bradford. Seniors for the men's and women's teams will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
