Women's Swimming Posts Five Event Wins Against Penn State-Altoona
The Wells College women's swimming team won five of 11 events as the Express hosted its final home meet of the 2016-17 season on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the Schwartz Center. Visiting Penn State-Altoona won the dual-meet by a score of 56-32.
Emily Cooper swam unopposed in the 1,650-yard freestyle and her time of 25:12.20 gave Wells its first event win of the night.
Shannon Simmons followed Cooper's victory with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:18.54.
Courtney Cloutier finished first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:20.89.
Kaitlyn Schwend was first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:30.62.
Gina Ross-Detro earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:57.02.
Wells will close the regular-season portion of the schedule Saturday, Jan. 21 at Cazenovia College at 1 p.m.
