Women's Swimming Wraps Dual-Meet Season At Cazenovia

The Wells College women's swimming team wrapped up its dual-meet season with a three-team meet with William Smith College at Cazenovia College on Saturday, Jan. 21. William Smith defeated Wells 158-56 and Cazenovia defeated Wells 176-52.

Top finishes for Wells were turned in by Gina Ross-Detro and Kaitlyn Schwend. Ross-Detro took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.09 and Schwend was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:03.54.

Courtney Cloutier was fourth in the 400-yard individual medley in 5:36.58 and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.20.

The 200-yard medley relay was fourth in 2:11.85 by the group of Shannon Simmons, Ross-Detro, Schwend, and Cloutier. The Express capped the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay by the quartet of Emily Cooper, Asa Cade, Chasity Daniels, and Destiny Rivera.

Wells will turn its attention and preparation to the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 10-12 at SUNY Cobleskill.
