Women's Swimming Takes Win At Cobleskill

The Wells College women's swimming team picked up its first win of the season with a 152-82 win at SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Dec. 2. Three different Wells swimmers each won two individual events.

Wells started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with Shannon Simmons, Tiffany Core, Kaitlyn Schwend, and Paetyn Burish clocking 2:22.49 to win by approximately 12 seconds.

Amy Storti won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 14:39.04.

Shannon Simmons was first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:18.08. She won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:53.56, ahead of teammates Anna Bozeat in second (2:55.04) and Paetyn Burish in third.

Tiffany Core won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:37.30 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 3:34.74.

Kaitlyn Schwend swam unopposed in the 200-yard butterfly and won in 2:34.59. She won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:42.08.

Emily Cooper claimed the win in the 500-yard freestyle in 7:08.10.

The relay of Bozeat, Cooper, Storti, and Simmons won the 200 free relay in 2:13.26.

Wells will compete again after the turn of the New Year with a Jan. 13 tri-meet at Pitt-Bradford along with Buffalo State.
