Dual-Meet Opener For Women's Swimming At Oswego

The Wells College women's swimming team saw its first dual-meet action of the 2018-19 season with a meet at Oswego State on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Lakers won the meet by a score of 148-59.

Courtney Cloutier took second place points in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:35.66 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:29.05.

Callia Ortega was a strong second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.28.

Shannon Simmons was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:17.87.

In the distance freestyle events, Amy Storti was second and Emily Cooper was third in both the 1,000 free and 500 free.

Wells started the meet with a time of 2:18.02 in the 200-yard medley relay with the quartet of Shannon Simmons, Callia Ortega, Courtney Cloutier, and Jess Boeheim.

Wells will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 3. It's the first home meet of the season for the Express as they take on Utica College at 1 p.m. at the Schwartz Center Aquatics Facility.
