GARY NAMED HEAD MEN'S AND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACH

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce Richard Gary has been named the new Head Men's and Women's Volleyball Coach. Gary most recently served as the assistant women's volleyball and head men's club coach at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.

"We are very excited to welcome Richard to the Wells community. Upon speaking with Richard for the first time, I was immediately struck by his passion, energy and knowledge of the game, Director of Athletics Michael Borsz said. Richard's many years of experience as both a coach and faculty member will undoubtedly prove very valuable as we continue lay the foundation for Wells Volleyball. "

Gary comes to Wells with a wealth of volleyball experience, including 15 years coaching experience, which has included time at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels. He also recently spent time as a head coach in the Netherlands coaching two men's and two women's teams in Holland. Along with his significant coaching experience, he also holds his USAV CAP I Coaching Certification and is an active member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and USA Volleyball.

Outside of Volleyball, Gary has spent time as a Corporate Recruiter for the CIGNA Corporation in Philadelphia, Pa. and as a College Writing Instructor at Hartwick College and Oneonta State.

The inaugural men's volleyball team will kick-off a slate of 17 matches on February 21 when they travel to take on Philadelphia Biblical at 7 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa. The Express will open their home schedule with a tri-match against Hilbert College and Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, March 3 starting at 12 p.m.   The women's volleyball program is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2012.
