Express Downed By SUNY Canton, 3-0

CANTON, N.Y. – The Wells College women's volleyball team was defeated by the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton by a 3-0 score to conclude the SUNY Canton Tournament Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Express' overall record falls to 1-2 on the season. The Kangaroos remain perfect, sporting an overall record of 3-0 in non-conference play.

For the second-straight game, both Zakarra Butts (Cortland, N.Y.) and Katie Curtin (Cassville, N.Y.) tied for the team lead in kills. Curtin's three kills and two errors in eight total chances combined for a team-best .125 hitting percentage. Butts also made only two errors and recorded three kills in 11 chances for a .091 hitting percentage.

Setter Taryn Heath (Homer, N.Y.) contributed seven assists on 10 of the Express' kills and Curtin tied for the team lead with five kills. Libero Nicole Loeven (Pawling, N.Y.) recorded five digs of her own in the loss. Loeven also converted the team's lone service ace of the match.
