Women's Volleyball Sweeps SUNY Cobleskill, 3-0

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wells College women's volleyball team turned aside the Fighting Tigers from SUNY Cobleskill by a 3-0 score on Sunday. Wells moves to 14-8 overall on the year with the win, improving to 8-1 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. SUNY Cobleskill falls to 5-17 on the season and to 2-7 within league play.

Wells captured a dominant first set victory, 25-9, before posting set scores of 25-13 and 25-16. In total, the Express registered 30 kills and only committed eight attacking errors on the afternoon. Wells also held their opponent to a sub-zero attacking percentage for the second time in three matches.

Sophomore Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo (Hilo, Hawaii) posted a double-double for the Express, leading the team in both kills (10) and digs (10). Sophomore Eliza Schwab (Hartland, N.Y.) set up 16 kills for the Express while senior Vashti Nettles (Long Beach, Calif.) chipped in with seven digs on 17 errorless attacks. Senior Nadine Pershyn (Buffalo, N.Y.) tallied nine digs defensively while Schwab helped defensively with eight digs.

SUNY Cobleskill was led by seven kills from Emilie Reimer. Michelle Urkevich posted 11 assists while Raven Worthing racked up 11 digs to lead the Fighting Tigers.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Oct. 24 as they face-off against Bryn Athyn and Penn St.-Abington at 4 and 6 p.m., respectively, on the campus of Cazenovia College.
