Leite-Ah Yo Earns Recognition At Cortland Tournament

Wells College women's volleyball junior Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo was named to the all-tournament team as the Express wrapped up play Saturday, Sept. 3 at the season-opening Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic. Wells dropped both of its matches on Saturday. The Express started with a four-set loss to Alfred by scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23. In the final match of the event, Lebanon Valley swept Wells by scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Wells will be back in action when the Express hosts a four-team round-robin weekend Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10 that also includes Houghton College, Clarks Summit and Maine-Fort Kent.

ALFRED 3, WELLS 1

The closest match of the season so far for the Express went in Alfred's favor. Their entire margin of victory over the three combined victorious sets was just seven points. Wells won the second set by a 25-19 score.

Jackie Allen had 11 kills and Olyvia Brazier had 10 kills for Wells. The team recorded five total blocks. Eliza Schwab had a solo block and two assisted blocks. Schwab also led the Express with 16 digs and 32 assists. Brazier, Schwab and Leite-Ah Yo each served two aces.

LEBANON VALLEY 3, WELLS 0

In the final match of the weekend, Lebanon Valley swept Wells despite a team-high 10 kills from Leite-Ah Yo, who hit .190 in the match. She added two service aces and 11 digs. Brazier had 12 digs and Schwab doled out 18 assists.
