Wells Serves Up Win Over Cazenovia

The Wells College women's volleyball team maintained its perfect conference record with a three-set win at Cazenovia College on Tuesday, Sept. 26 in a match played at Cazenovia High School. Set scores were 25-17, 25-8, 25-15. Wells is 10-5 overall and 4-0 against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponents. Cazenovia is 3-12 overall and 1-3 in the NEAC.

Wells had a dominant serving match to earn the victory. Wells totaled 22 service aces, the second-most in a single match in program history, and had just one service error. Nine Wells players served at least one ace, and Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo led the team with five aces, and Cheyenne Nowalk had four aces. Eliza Schwab and Gabby Sawyer each served three.

Defensively, Leite-Ah Yo led Wells with 15 digs, and Lakshmi Martin had three solo blocks

Jackie Allen had eight kills and hit .429 in the match. Amanda Springer and Lakshmi Martin each had five kills. Eliza Schwab had 19 assists.

Wells will compete this weekend at Canton, N.Y. in matches hosted Friday by St. Lawrence University and Saturday matches at SUNY Canton.
