Women's Volleyball Wraps Hawaii Trip

The Wells College women's volleyball team wrapped up a four-match weekend at the Pacific University Invitational at Kailua, Hawaii on Sunday, Sept. 8. Wells lost the opening match of the day in straight sets against Pacific University and then fell in four sets against Simpson College.

Wells is home for the first time this season with matches on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14.

Pacific 3, Wells 0

Set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 25-18 for Pacific. Wells hit .217 in the match with 29 kills and 14 errors. Maritza Scharoun had 10 kills and Jazzmyne Williams had nine kills. Jordan Stoops had 15 assists and Lorissa Parks added eight assists. Stoops served four aces. Nanako Otsuka had seven digs and Gabby Rivera had six digs. Scharoun added one solo block and three block assists.

Simpson 3, Wells 1

Wells took the second set but fell in four by set scores of 25-12, 21-25, 25-14, 25-12. The Express had 27 kills and 32 errors in the match. Scharoun had 11 kills, two solo blocks, and two block assists. Jazzmyne Williams had eight kills and 10 digs. Gabby Rivera added nine digs and four service aces.
