Women’s Volleyball Team Gets Road Sweep Against Wildcats

The Wells College women's volleyball team swept North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Cazenovia College with set scores of 25-20, 25-7 and 28-26 on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The win left the Express with a 7-4 conference record that could land Wells as high as a tie for second place in the NEAC, depending upon the results of four other teams currently at 7-3 who have one match remaining.

The Express were especially sharp in the second set with a hitting percentage of .344.

Jackie Allen led the team in kills with 17 while hitting .353, and Jazzmyne Williams produced 11 kills while hitting .348 on the night. Allen also had a pair of aces.

Jordan Stoops helped the attack with 25 assists and Lorissa Parks added 11 helpers.

Gabby Rivera registered a dozen digs with Stoops adding eight, while four players recorded blocks that included Maritza Scharoun, Makenzie Drown, Nanako Otsuka and Williams.

The Wells College women's volleyball team next returns home this weekend to conclude the regular season with a pair of non-conference matchups on Saturday, Nov. 2 against Keystone College (Factoryville, Penn.) at 11 a.m. and Alfred State at 3 p.m.
