Middlebrook Earns NEAC Women’s XC Runner of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Junior Emily Middlebrook (Newark, N.Y.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after her performance for the Wells College women's cross country team at the 7th Annual SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational this past Saturday. Middlebrook and the Express placed sixth out of 12 teams at the event.

Middlebrook was the first NEAC runner to cross the finish line, placing third overall out of 143 participants with a time of 20:50 and averaging a 6:42 pace per mile. Middlebrook has now been the top Express runner at all 17 events she has competed in since joining the team as a freshman in 2011. Across her three years at Wells, Middlebrook has earned five NEAC Runner of the Week awards and has drawn NEAC Runner of the Year as a freshman and a sophomore.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Sept. 7 as they travel to participate in the Oswego State College/Pat Petersen Invitational at Hidden Fields in Oswego, N.Y.
