Theriault Places Fourth At NEAC Championships

WASHINGTON – Sophomore Deaven Theriault (Ludlow, Mass.) placed fourth overall among the field of 88 runners as the Wells College women's cross country team posted a sixth place finish at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Kenilworth Park. As a team, Wells posted 132 points to narrowly miss capturing fourth place by 13 total points.

With the first place finish, Theriault picks up First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season. At last year's championship meet, Theriault placed fifth with a time of 21:01 as three separate runners earned All-Conference nods for the Express.

Theriault was one of three other runners to come within one minute of catching the race winner, Shelby McIntyre of Cazenovia College, as she posted a time of 23:21 to place fourth. Senior Katie Lamanna (Constableville, N.Y.) finished 22nd overall, posting a time of 25:06.6 on the course. Seniors Lindsey Guzewicz (Auburn, N.Y.) and Anastasia Benson (Rockford, Ill.) placed 32nd and 33rd, respectively, with times of 26:30.8 and 26:31.9.

Freshman Amanda Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y.) notched a time of 28:15.4 while senior Paige Fralick (Mexico, N.Y.) rounded out the field of Wells runners with a time of 31:46.7.

The Express will compete at the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Atlantic Regional, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15. Further information regarding the race will be released closer to the event date.
