Women's Cross Country Eighth At Hamilton

The Wells College women's cross country team placed eighth in a competitive field at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6. The race was contested over a five-kilometer course on the Hamilton College Golf Course in Clinton, N.Y.

The field included 87 total competitors and nine scoring teams.

Amanda Fastiggi was the top finisher among the six Wells runners with a time of 22 minutes, 26 seconds. Abigail Frey was next in 24:04 and closely followed by Yuna Itakura in 24:36.

Kaylen Furr ran the 5K course in 26:13 and Joy Lionel was the other scoring member of the Wells lineup in 30:43. Aala Al-Hashimi ran 31:03 for the Express and completed the lineup.

Wells will compete next on Saturday, Oct. 13 in the annual Cross Country Only Conference championship meet hosted by Hobart and William Smith in Geneva, N.Y.
