Men's Cross Country All-Decade

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in men's cross country comprises student-athletes that participated during the past 10 fall seasons between 2009-18. The team consists of 10 selections with all-conference selections receiving automatic placement.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically): Stephen Armstrong (2012, 2014-15), Ross Cobb (2015-16, 2018), Antonio D'Arpino (2015-18), Paul Hernon (2012-14), Tanner Mingen (2015-17), Ky'aire Reed (2013-16), Brayden Shumski (2009-12), Adam Sleezer (2016-17), Eli Stone (2017-18) and John Tolley (2015-18).

During the three seasons between 2009-12, the Wells College men's cross country team finished the NEAC Championships as one of the top-six teams with three of those years in the top-five. The same four-year span also coincides with Shumski's four seasons on the team. Shumski is the only all-decade selection to earn all-conference honors in four seasons. His freshman and sophomore seasons produced second-team all-conference and his junior and senior seasons saw him earn the program's inaugural and only first-team all-conference selections, which he achieved twice. Shumski finished in the top-10 in all four conference championships with a seventh-place finish in 2011 (28:27) and 2012 (29:53), a ninth-place finish in 2014 (30:55) and a 10th-place finish in 2010 (29:11).

The men's cross country all-decade team consists of four members that earned all-conference selections that in addition to Shumski, include Hernon, Sleezer and Mingen. Mingen garnered second-team honors in 2017 after finishing 13th (30:37) and missed a third all-conference selection the previous year by one place finish after finishing 22nd in 2016 (29:44). Sleezer earned a pair of third-team all-conference honors in 2016 and 2017. His best finish was in 2016 when he was 15th (28:47), while he also finished 18th in 2017 (30:58). Hernon joins Shumski and Armstrong as members of the 2012 team that finished fifth at the NEAC Championships that year. Hernon had one top-20 finish in the conference championship in 2013 (30:45) which earned him an all-conference nod, while placing 32nd in 2012 (32:57) and 35th in 2014 (31:05).

Three other members of the men's cross country all-decade team joined Shumski with four seasons in the books and include D'Arpino, Reed and Tolley. D'Arpino's two-best conference championship times were 30:30 (2018) and 30:39 (2016). Reed's two-best conference championship times were 33:38 (2014) and 34:15 (2016). Tolley's two-best conference championship times were 33:27 (2018) and 34:56 (2016).

The all-decade team's lone member to compete in just two seasons was Stone, who ran in the program's last two seasons with times of 31:29 (2018) and 33:11 (2017). The remaining two runners from the all-decade team each have three seasons of competition and include Armstrong and Cobb. Armstrong's two-best conference championship times were 30:32 (2015) and 31:05 (2014), while Cobb's were 32:40 (2016) and 34:48 (2015).
