Women's Cross Country All-Decade Team

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in women's cross country comprises student-athletes that participated during the past 10 fall seasons between 2009-18. The team consists of 10 selections with all-conference selections receiving automatic placement.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically): Anastasia Benson (2011-14), Amanda Fastiggi (2015-18), Abigail Frey (2018), Brienne Goodson (2010-12), Lindsey Guzewicz (2011-12, 2014), Katie Lamanna (2012-14), Emily Middlebrook (2011-13), Stephanie Santamaria (2010-11), Deaven Theriault (2013-16) and Kayleen Wilkinson (2006-09).

During the three seasons between 2011-13, the Wells College women's cross country team finished the NEAC Championships as one of the top-four teams with two of those years in the top-three. Seven of the 10 selections ran on one or more of those teams that finished in the top-four.

The women's cross country all-decade team consists of four members that earned three all-conference selections each. Of the four, Middlebrook is the most distinguished. Not only was she an all-conference selection in each of her three seasons, but she also captured the conference runner of the year twice by virtue of winning the NEAC Championship race (2011, 2012). The only year she didn't win the NEAC championship, she finished as runner-up (2013). Middlebrook was the catalyst for those three top-four conference finishes with each occurring during her three seasons. In 2011, she also captured the NEAC Rookie of the Year award and holds the school record for the best times in both the 5K (19:08) and the 6K (20:04). She was a three-time team most valuable runner and earned women's cross country conference runner of the week a half-dozen times over her career.

Joining Middlebrook with three all-conference selections are Fastiggi, Goodson and Theriault. Fastiggi's best conference championship finish was third overall in 2015 (24:52). She finished in the top-10 one other time in her senior year with a ninth-place finish (26:35) at the conference championships in 2018 while earning all-conference in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Goodson's best conference championship was at No. 13 in 2011 with a time of 21:21. She earned all-conference in each of her three seasons (2010, 2011, 2012) and finished in the top-20 all three years in the conference championships at No. 15 in 2012 (24:50) and at No. 16 in 2010 (22:13). The two-time captain took the team's most valuable award in 2010. Theriault's best conference championship finish was fourth in 2014 (23:21) and that was one of two top-10 conference championship finishes with a fifth-place finish in 2013 (21:01). Theriault is a former team most valuable runner and earned all-conference in 2013, 2014 and 2016.

The lone two-time all-conference selection (2012, 2013) to the all-decade team is Lamanna. Her best conference championship was at No. 12 in 2013 (22:16). She finished in the top-25 at the conference championships in each of her three seasons with a finish at No. 18 in 2012 (25:14) and at No. 22 in 2014 (23:21).

Four of the remaining five all-decade selections garnered one all-conference selection. Frey earned hers in her only season in 2018 and finished at No. 21 in the conference championship (27:56). Santamaria ran for two seasons in 2010 and 2011 with her best conference championship finish at No. 20 in 2010 (23:15), the same year she was named all-conference. Guzewicz earned all-conference during her freshman season in 2011 after finishing at No. 8 in the conference championships that year (20:48). Wilkinson earned all-conference in 2009 after finishing at No. 12 that season in the conference championships (23:44) and is a two-time team most valuable runner and three-time captain.

Rounding out the all-decade team is Benson. She was a top-five scoring runner for Wells in each of her four seasons. Twice she finished at No. 33 in the conference championships in her freshman and senior seasons. Her best conference championship finish was at No. 24 in 2012 (25:49), while she also finished at No. 29 in 2013.
