Women's Tennis Opens Spring Slate at Houghton

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Senior Kevisha Hunt (Germantown, Md.) of the Wells College women's tennis team posted a come-from-behind victory at No. 3 singles as the Express dropped Saturday's match against Houghton College by an 8-1 margin. On the year, Wells falls to 1-3 overall while the Highlanders improve to 7-8 on the year. 

Hunt was able to overcome an early deficit, rallying from a 6-1 defeat to post 7-5 and 11-9 wins to earn her team's only win of the afternoon. Playing at No. 3 singles, Hunt concluded the day with a 3-1 record this season and earned her 12th career victory in singles play with the result. 

Wells will return to action Saturday, Apr. 2 as it takes on Penn St.-Abington in the first North Eastern Athletic Conference match of the year. The tilt is slated to begin at high noon in Abington, Pa.
