CROSS COUNTRY OPENS 2008 SEASON

The Wells College Cross Country team competed in the Buffalo State Daniel Walker Invitational on Saturday, August 30, at Buffalo. Both the men's and women's team competed strongly against the eight other schools they ran against.

Although Evando Nascimento and Sarah Brenner were the not the top runners for Wells, coach Matt Jones could not stop singing the praises of these two runners. "I was extremely pleased with everyone's effort especially those of Evando and Sarah. They really went above and beyond and gave 110 percent. That's what we are going to need from all of our runners to be successful."

"It's good to get the first meet out of the way, but we still have a lot to improve on over the next week so we can compete stronger at the next meet," said Jones.

The men finished 8th out of 9 places with 200 points and the women finished 9th out of 9 places with 226 points.

They Cross Country team will travel to SUNY-IT for the 2nd Annual Wildcat Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 6 starting 11:00 am.
