Fastiggi, Theriault Lead Women's Cross Country At CCOC Meet

The Wells College women's cross country team placed 11th in a field of 14 teams at the Cross Country Only Conference championship meet hosted by Hobart and William Smith Colleges at Seneca Lake State Park on Saturday, Oct. 15. The six-kilometer course hosted a field of 131 competitors.

Amanda Fastiggi and Deaven Theriault led the Express lineup with strong finishes in 42nd and 43rd place. Fastiggi ran 27 minutes, 24 seconds and Theriault was seven seconds behind at 27:31.

Jenn VanWormer was the third Wells runner to cross in 31:07, followed by Rutsuko Ueda in 31:54 and Rosalety Galea in 34:45.

The Express returns to action at the Hamilton College Short-Course Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 22 as the team continues to gear up for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships on Oct. 29.
