SCHILLING AND SPENCER EARN NEAC STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ Dan Schilling and Gabby Spencer made it a clean sweep of the NEAC Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week award for the week ending November 21. Schilling led the Express to a 59-26 victory over the Cobleskill, while Spencer snapped the 20 year old 50 Freestyle Record for Wells. 

Schilling (Centerport, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men's Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for his three first place finishes in a dual meet against SUNY Cobleskill. Schilling, a sophomore for the Wells College Express, finished first in the 400 yard IM in a time of 5:10.86, first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.36, and first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.95. He helped his team win the dual match 59-26. 

Spencer (Trumansburg, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women's Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for her three first place finishes for her Wells College Express in their dual meet loss to conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill, with a score of 40-50. Spencer, a freshman, finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0:26.37, first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.27, and first in the 400 yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:23.02.
