Coaching Experience:

At Wells (2022-Present)

Ian Crawford enters his third season on the coaching staff where he works as the Hitting Coach and Catching Coach. On game days is responsible for preparing Catchers, setting the hitting pre game plan, Coaches first base, along with other logistical tasks. 

Scouting (2022-Present)

Coach Crawford helps Coach Stevens throughout the offseason attending various camps, clinics, and recruiting showcases for the Express baseball program. Crawford has also helped coach the youth when Wells College hosts U.S. Baseball Academy Camps for local baseball players. 

Athletic Training Experience

Coach Crawford was an Athletic Training Assistant while a student at Wells College from 2017-2021 and is currently EMT certified. 

Playing Career:

College

Coach Crawford was a four year member of the Express baseball program and was a captain during his Senior year in 2021. Despite having two seasons shortened due to COVID-19 Crawford played in 44 games, had 22 hits, a triple, a home run, walked 16 times, and had an OBP of .347. Defensively played Catcher and First Base. Holds the Wells College record for Fielding Percentage at .984% As a medical redshirt First Year Crawford hit a home run at Penn State Berks on 3/30/18. Recorded a 1.000% Fielding Percentage during his Junior and Senior seasons defensively over 115 Total Chances. In the 44 games played Crawford only committed 3 career errors. 

High School 

Crawford is from Syracuse, New York where he attended Jamesville-Dewitt during high school. Coach Crawford was a member of the varsity baseball program for two years. During his Senior season in 2017 Crawford batted for an average of .288, a home run, and tallied 11 walks. Career wise, Crawford hit 2 home runs during his high school career at Jamesville-Dewitt. As a Senior was named captain for the Rams along with making the All-Conference Team. 

Personal:

Crawford is from Syracuse, New York where he attended Jamesville-Dewitt during high school. Crawford graduated from Wells College in 2021 with a B.S. in Business and dual Minored in Sports Management and Psychology. Parents are Beth and Vaughn. Outside of coaching for the Express Coach Crawford is a full time pilot and has a passion for aviation.
