Coaching Experience:

At Wells (2022-Present)

Joe Cuddy enters his second season on the coaching staff where he works as the Outfield Coach and Head of Opponent Scouting. On game days is responsible for preparing outfielders, in-game analytics, and at times is the first base coach, along with other logistical tasks. Joe, is known to be a players coach and always creates time to check in with players whether it’s baseball related or not. 

Scouting (2022-Present)

Coach Cuddy helps Coach Stevens throughout the offseason attending various camps, clinics, and recruiting showcases for the Express baseball program. Cuddy has also helped coach the youth when Wells College hosts U.S. Baseball Academy Camps for local baseball players. 

Playing Career:

College

Coach Joe Cuddy was a two-year member of the Express playing in 15 games, where he was a utility player before his career got cut short due to injuries. During his Sophomore season (2022) Cuddy batted for an average of .250 and ripped a double against nationally recognized United States Merchant Marine Academy at the time. Cuddy found time in the infield and outfield making only one error in 21 total chances. Accumulated a 1.000% Fielding Percentage as a First Year in 2021. Coach Cuddy was a promising pitcher before arm injuries shortened his career as well. 

High School 

Cuddy attended Spencerport High School where he was a 4 year member of the baseball program where he played two years on varsity. While a member of the Rangers baseball program Cuddy pitched and played First Base. 

Also was a member of the men’s volleyball team for four years as a Defensive Specialist where he played 2 years on varsity

Personal:

Is from Spencerport, New York where he attended Spencerport high school. Mother Sherie, father Chris. Cuddy has two sisters named Maggie and Clare. Coach Cuddy is an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan along with rooting for his hometown Buffalo Bills. Outside of baseball, Cuddy enjoys traveling all over the world as he has been to 23 countries to this point. As a student at Wells, Cuddy studied abroad in Spain. Coach Cuddy is certified biliterate in Spanish and is always looking to learn more about humanity and different cultures. Outside of baseball Cuddy enjoys working and running Barton’s Parkside Hots hotdog stand. Coach Cuddy is currently finishing up his undergraduate dual degree this spring in Sociology/Anthropology while double Minoring in Sports Management and Spanish.
