Shutout Victory For Men's Soccer Over Clarks Summit

The Wells College men's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over Clarks Summit University on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Wells Turf Field. The Express scored three times in the second half and now has a 3-4-0 overall record this season.

Wells opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the match when Junger Vargas assisted on the second goal of the year for Mekhi Edge-Wallace.

Vargas scored twice in the second half, the first was unassisted in the 58th minute. Vargas extended the lead to 3-0 on an assist from Edge-Wallace in the 79th minute. In the final minutes of play, Justin Butler scored on a free kick outside of the box to account for the final Wells goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Kingsley Ehling made three saves and picked up his first career shutout. Wells outshot Clarks Summit 20-12 in the match, despite Summit having a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Wells is back in action in North Eastern Athletic Conference play Saturday, Sept. 21 at Cazenovia College.
