Men's Soccer Tie Clarks Summit in Home opener

Wells College men's soccer hosted their home opener Monday afternoon against the Clarks Summit Defenders.

Last season, the Express fell to the defenders 6-1 and this year they were looking for some revenge.

Clarks Summit outshot Wells the entire game including the first half where Wells had 4 shots to the Defender's 11. Sean Nemeth produced 5 big saves to keep the score 0-0 heading into halftime.

In the second half, Zaki Javed for the Express ripped a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net and gave Wells a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute. On a scorching hot afternoon, the Express defense did their best to hold off Clarks Summit in the second half only allowing 9 shots on goal. However, in the 64th minute, Clarks Summit tied the game up at 1. The game would end in a 1-1 tie showing year-to-year improvement for Wells College.

Men's Soccer will be back in action this Saturday at SUNY Canton.
