MEN'S SOCCER LOSES IN 2OT

Aurora, New York – Daniel Guillen (San Jose, Costa Rica)headed a ball over the outstretched hand of Express goalie Mike Birklin (Cicero, NY) as the Penn St. Harrisburg Lions defeated the Wells College Express Men's Soccer Team 3-2 in double overtime on Saturday at Wells. 

With the loss the Express fall to 2-3-1 while the Lions improve to 4-2-0. 

Wells got the scoring started as Derek Wheeler (Ava, NY) blew past the Lion defense and delivered a shot to the back of the net to give Wells a 1-0 lead. The Express finished the first half with the lead despite being outshot 6-3 in the half. The Lions would get on the board just over ten minutes into the second half as Josh Clinger (East Petersburg, PA) would sneak one by Birklin to tie the game, 1-1.

With less than four minutes left in the game, Lion forward Danny Francis (Pottstown, PA) sent the go ahead goal high into the net to take the lead. The Express answered quickly with the equalizer just a minute later to send the game into overtime. It wasn't until five minutes into the second overtime that Guillen was able to score the game winning goal. 

The Express will return to action on Wednesday, September 24, against Alfred her at Wells College starting at 4:00 pm.
