Men’s Swimming Competes At Hartwick Relays

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's swimming team competed at the Hartwick Relays, hosted by Hartwick College, this past Saturday at the Moyer Pool. The Express placed fourth overall as a squad in the 24 event meet, earning 42 points.

The host Hawks captured first place in the men's competitions, earning 156 points. The Red Dragons of SUNY Oneonta placed second overall with 116 points while the Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose, competing in Division II within the Northeast-10 Conference, placed third with 112 points.

In the Men's 850 Yard Crescendo Free Relay, the Express came out of the gate strong as Matthew Sleezer (Gloversville, N.Y.) led all seven operating lanes with a time of 22.94 seconds through the first 50 yards. The Express went on to finish fourth in the day's 10th event. In the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Sleezer finished the final 50 yards for the Express, posting the event's second best final lap time (22.74 seconds).

The Express return to action Saturday, Nov. 3 as they face-off against SUNY Brockport in a 1:00 p.m. meet on the road.
