Women’s Swimming Team Prepares for NEAC Championships with William Smith College Tri-Meet

The Wells College women's swimming team traveled to Geneva to compete in a tri-meet against Cazenovia College and host William Smith College on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Express' women's swimmers fell to Cazenovia by just 35 points in a 138-103 defeat and they were bested by the host Herons by a 166-74 score.

The best finish for the team came in the 200 freestyle relay. The quartet of Hailey Onofre, Nicole D'Aurizio, Shannon Simmons and Saoirse Murphy-Collins took the event with a winning time of 2:00.68.

Murphy-Collins had the best individual performance on the day for the Express with a pair of runner-up finishes. The first came in the 200 freestyle with a 2:13.79 time and the other in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:00.17.

The women's team next travels to SUNY Cobleskill for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships held between Feb. 14 and Feb. 16.
