Women's Swimming All-Decade Team

Women's Swimming All-Decade Team

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in women's swimming comprises student-athletes that participated during the winter seasons between 2010-11 and 2019-20. Collectively, the women's swimming all-decade team can be found close to 70 times in Wells Top-10 event times with no swimmer having appeared in any fewer than four appearances.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically) with completed seasons in parenthesis: Courtney Cloutier (2015-16 through 2018-19), Nina Daniels (2012-13 through 2015-16), Hilary Feudale (2012-13, 2013-14), Amelia Flint (2013-14, 2014-15), Quinn Griswold (2015-16), Saoirse Murphy-Collins (2019-20), Gina Ross-Detro (2013-14 through 2016-17), Kaitlyn Schwend (2014-15 through 2017-18), Gabby Spencer (2010-11, 2011-12) and  Olive Touron (2011-12 through 2014-15).

Three selections from the women's swimming all-decade team took their only team award as the team's best rookie and include Ross-Detro, Spencer and Touron. Ross-Detro was part of a pair of relay records and appears in the top-10 a total of five times and was a member of one championship team. Her success around the pool continued when she met her future husband from the men's swimming team, Ian Ronan. They are the only married couple to be represented on both the male and female all-decade swimming teams. Spencer garnered a conference athlete of the week honor and is listed in the top-10 a total of nine times that include two events (50 free and 200 IM) that she once held records in, but were beaten later in the decade. Touron is part of three relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of seven times while being a part of two championship teams.

Four other swimmers captured most valuable swimmer awards and include Schwend, Cloutier, Murphy-Collins and Feudale. Schwend is a three-time most valuable swimmer who is a part of two relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of eight times. Cloutier also took three team awards over her career in different seasons. In addition to most valuable, she also was the team's Express winner and its rookie winner. The former team captain holds the 200 IM record and is part of two other relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of 13 times. Murphy-Collins appears in the fewest top-10 listings with four, but only because she has just one year on the team that was both a championship season for Wells and one where she took NEAC Rookie of the Year honors. Feudale won five conference weekly honors during the 2012-13 season and was a two-time conference champion, two-time most valuable and the team's top rookie. She is a part of five school record times, three are in relays and the other two are in the 50 free and 100 back. She is listed in the top-10 a total of six times.

The remaining three members of the women's swimming all-decade team were either captains, conference champions, Express Award winners or a combination thereof. Daniels and Flint each won team Express awards. Daniels was also a two-time conference champion and a part of two relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of six times. Flint was also a part of a pair of relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of six times. Griswold was a team captain who transferred to Wells for her senior season and was a part of two relay records and is listed in the top-10 a total of five times after only just one season.
