Women’s Tennis Set Down By Hartwick, 9-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's tennis team was defeated by the Hawks of Hartwick College by a 9-0 margin Saturday afternoon at the Hartwick Courts. With the loss, the Express fall to 1-5 overall on the season while the Hawks improve to 4-3 following the non-conference contest.

Senior Caitlyn Copfer (Clinton, N.Y.) and junior Brittany Vanno (Whitesboro, N.Y.) posted the closest matches of the afternoon at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Both Copfer and Vanno fell by 8-4 scores in singles play for the Express and combined to drop an 8-4 decision at No. 1 doubles, losing to Nicole Schepisi and Lysandra Tetreault by an 8-4 score.

The Express return to action Saturday, Oct. 6 as they travel to face-off against Ithaca College in a 2:00 p.m. contest.
