Wells Express Athletes Of The Week 9/13

Congratulations to the first athletes of the week for the 2023-24 year, Sean Nemeth and Sadie Combs!

Sean Nemeth (men's soccer) was selected this week based on his performance in the men's soccer game when they host SUNY ESF. The Express played the Mighty Oaks into a 0-0 tie. Nemeth, the goalkeeper, played a huge part in shutting out SUNY ESF by collecting 12 saves on the day. So far this season, Nemeth leads the AMCC conference with 50 total saves and is fourth in save percentage (.769). Nemeth is a sophomore at Wells College from Grand Island, NY. Sean was nominated by his head coach Jim McIntyre.

Sadie Combs (field hockey) was selected this week based on her performance in two road games against Wilkes and The College at Brockport. The Express have played some tough competition lately and Sadie's head coach shared "Sadie kept us in play against unbelievable opponents!". Combs has tallied double-digit saves in each of the games so far with her season high coming against Marywood (16). Sadie is a first-year student at Wells College from Harpursville, NY. She was nominated this week by her head coach, Adair Milmoe.
