The Wells College field hockey team earned its first victory of the season with a 2-1 win at Cedar Crest on Sunday, Sept. 4. The Express scored once in each half and improved its record to 1-2 on the season. Cedar Crest is 0-2. Wells will play at Nazareth on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Wells took the lead in just the second minute of the game. Logan Vincent scored her first goal of the season. Cedar Crest tied the score in the eighth minute.
The game-winning goal was scored by Kate Wells on an assist from Vincent early in the second half. Wells goalkeeper Sydney Line made five saves.
Cedar Crest had a 12-11 advantage in shots and 12-8 advantage in penalty corners.
