Numerous Career- and Season-Best Times For Men's Swimming

The Wells College men's swimming team hosted North Eastern Athletic Conference opponents Gallaudet University and SUNY Cobleskill at the Schwartz Center on Saturday, Dec. 3. The three-way dual meet saw Gallaudet defeat Wells by a score of 103-64 and Cobleskill defeated Wells 130-55. In the other dual, Cobleskill edged Gallaudet by a 103-79 score.

Numerous personal-best and season-best times highlighted the meet for Wells student-athletes.

In the 1000-yard freestyle, Brandon Sprague took third place with a time of 12:53.31, which was an eight-second improvement and a personal-best time. Lucas Donnenwirth was fourth in the same event with a time of 12:54.90, a five-second improvement and personal record.

The 200-yard individual medley saw Ian Ronan cut his season-best time by two seconds when he timed in at 2:30.46 and placed second. Shawn Snell took fifth in the 200 IM and posted his season-best time.

Adam Sleezer took third in the 50-yard freestyle with a one-second improvement in his time to 28.19 seconds, a personal record. Tyler Lewis had a season-best time of 1:18.63 in the 100-yard breaststroke, a three-second improvement.

The Express will take a break in the competitive schedule through the remainder of December and returns to action Jan. 13 at Utica College in a tri-meet with Utica and Alfred University.
